Doris K. Cope, M.D., Chief, Division of Pain Medicine, has been accepted
as a Fellow in the 2006-2007 Class of the Hedwig
van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) Program for Women.
ELAM is a core program of the Institute for Women's Health and Leadership at Drexel University College of Medicine.
Established in 1995, ELAM offers an intensive one-year program of leadership training with extensive coaching, networking
and mentoring opportunities, aimed at expanding the national pool of qualified women candidates for leadership in
academic medicine, dentistry, and public health.
With full financial and academic time commitment and support of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and the Dept. of Anesthesiology, Dr. Cope competed
against over 90 applicants for one of the 45 available fellowship positions. This a competitive award with nominees sponsored
by one of over 79 academic institutions from across the U.S. and Canada.
