Pulse-Wave Radiofrequency of the Dorsal Root Ganglion
This procedure is used to treat pain associated with disc problems. It has been also used to treat certain whiplash conditions.

The procedure will not help with pain that is going down the legs or arms: radicular pain.

The procedure is done under sedation using x-ray guidance to localize the nerves with special needles. The nerves are heated to 42° for 2 minutes which disrupts the pain signal from those nerves without damaging the nerves. The time it takes to perform the procedure is about 90 mins. to 2 hours.
